Our engineering team, INTRAG, International Trade Agency in Austria, has completed more than 70 successful installations. The process begins with a review of the geography, topography, flood plain issues, ground water issues,commercial/industrial/residential development and public property at risk.Costs associated with the loss of operating days/capability, the loss of property as well as the loss by casualty insurers  and flood insurance costs are all examined through a cost/ benefit analysis.
On-site visits and analysis determine many of these variables, as well as the space available for foundations, wall sections, potential conflicts with in-place infrastructure and required wall heights. These on-site visits also address the critical soil engineering, groundwater factors that are critical to the proper design of the wall foundation elements. Such analysis determines whether ground water stops such as sheet piling will be required.
Flood water flow, velocity, potential wave action, flood duration and angles of flow to the wall are issues that need to be determined and worked into the total project design.
